Faction

  • Third Faction (Jackal)

Win Condition

  • Victory for the Jackal faction (*1)
    • When all of the following conditions are met, the win condition is fulfilled and the victory check is performed.
      • Eliminate all killing non-crew roles outside the Jackal faction (such as Impostor roles).
      • Reduce the number of crewmate-count crew members to the same number as the Jackal faction (*1).

Role Description

  • The active ability [SK] and the active ability [JFSK] cannot coexist. (*1)

  • Active Ability: Sidekick! / SK
    • You can change the target’s role into a Sidekick, who is your ally.
    • When all Jackals die, the Sidekick becomes a Jackal and gains the ability to kill.
      • If the [New Jackal can create a Sidekick] setting is enabled, this promoted Jackal will also be able to create a Sidekick.

  • Active Ability: (Jackal Friends) Sidekick! / JFSK
    • Its behavior differs between Normal Mode and SHR Mode. (*2)

    • Even in Normal Mode, this setting (*3) is useful when you “do not want to increase the number of killing non-crew roles, but do want to increase the number of Jackal-faction members (by selecting them directly rather than assigning them randomly).”
Notes
  • *1: The active ability [SK] and the active ability [JFSK] cannot coexist.
    • If both abilities are enabled, the JFSK ability takes priority and will be given.
    • If you want to use the SK ability, turn off the [Can create Jackal Friends] setting.

  • *2: The active ability [JFSK] behaves differently in Normal Mode and SHR Mode.

  • *3: “I do not want to increase the number of killing non-crew roles, but I do want to increase the number of Jackal-faction members.”
    • For example, in a 13-player lobby, 2 Impostors, 1 Sheriff, 1 Mayor, 1 Jackal may have too few evil roles, but 2 Impostors, 1 Sheriff, 1 Mayor, 2 Jackals (1J + 1SK) may have too many killing non-crew roles.
    • Since Jackal Friends are the Jackal-faction version of Madmate, they are allies of the Jackal, but they do not gain a kill button after the Jackal dies, and they are also counted as crewmates.
      • With this setting, the game will not reach a 0w 0J 1SK 2C~ state (where there is a Sidekick who does not get promoted but is still counted as part of a killing faction), so the game will never continue with no killing non-crew roles present.

  • *4: Behavior when targeting an Impostor and activating the active ability [JFSK] in SHR Mode.
    • The activation animation plays and the user becomes able to kill afterward, but the target cannot be changed into Jackal Friends.
      • Since the animation for a successful designation and a failed designation, as well as the kill button behavior after activation, are the same, the ability user is not notified that the designation failed.
      • The target is not notified that the ability was used on them.
    • Reason
      • Bugs occur because a former Impostor who becomes Jackal Friends cannot have their alignment judgment changed from Impostor to Crewmate.
        • For example, the match may continue in a two-player state with a former-Impostor Jackal Friends and a Jackal (a 1J 1C state, where the Jackal and Crewmate numbers are equal).

  • *5: Settings applied to Jackal Friends created in SHR Mode
    • In SHR Mode, some settings are not applied to created Jackal Friends.
      • [Can enter vents]
        • This cannot be used, regardless of whether the player has the mod installed or not.
        • If the role was originally able to use vents, non-host players will still see the vent button, but they will be kicked out if they enter a vent.

      • [Can check Jackals]
        • If the original role is replaced as an Impostor, Shapeshifter, or Impostor Ghost from the perspective of players without the mod installed (that is, a role that cannot do tasks from a vanilla perspective), the ability activates the moment they receive JFSK.
          • This behaves as if [Task amount required for ability activation (percentage of all tasks)] is set to 0%.
        • This specification is the same for both players without and with the mod installed.
