About Redirect Rooms

Creating redirect rooms and participating in redirect rooms is prohibited.

What is a redirect room?

  • A redirect room refers to directing players to a modded room from within a room created on the official Among Us servers.
    • Examples that fall under this rule:
      • In a vanilla room created by you or someone you know on the official Among Us servers (Asia/North America/Europe), giving participants the code for a modded room.
      • You, your sub-account, or someone you know entering a vanilla room created on the official Among Us servers as a guest and giving participants the code for a modded room, i.e. advertising it.
      • You or someone you know creating a public room, joining a public room, becoming friends with players there, and then inviting them to a modded room.
    • Examples that are not an issue:
      • Posting a room code on X, formerly Twitter, while clearly stating that it is a MOD room and recruiting participants there.
      • Sharing the room code for a MOD room and playing within a Discord server that only includes people you know.
      • Posting a room code in an Among Us recruitment Discord server while clearly stating that it is a MOD room and recruiting participants there.

Why are redirect rooms not allowed?

  • Based on a notice from Innersloth, the developer and official company behind Among Us, we interpret that developers of so-called host-based MODs, including SNR, are prohibited from publicly listing MOD rooms on the official servers if vanilla players can join them without any conditions or prior awareness.
    • As background, we believe this is because vanilla players who knew nothing about MODs unintentionally entered MOD rooms, played without realizing they were using a MOD, and then mistook MOD-related issues for bugs in Among Us itself, resulting in many inquiries being sent to the official support channels.
    • Innersloth has also cautioned against situations where users have an “unintended MOD experience.”
    • For the reasons above, we have determined that publishing or providing information about MOD rooms in unrestricted public rooms, where people who do not know MODs exist may also be matched, is prohibited.
    • Therefore, redirect rooms are also considered prohibited behavior.
