Role Porting Guidelines
These guidelines define the rules for porting roles from SuperNewRoles (hereafter “this mod”).
So that both sides can develop comfortably, we’d appreciate it if you follow these guidelines whenever possible.
The roles covered by these guidelines are those released on or after the date these guidelines were announced.
They do not necessarily have to be applied to roles released before this announcement (except for matters related to resource data).
Announcement date: March 10, 2024, 20:10
Revision date: March 11, 2024, 15:00
Warning
These guidelines may be changed without prior notice.
Prohibited
- Claiming that your mod developed it first, etc.
- Excessively exaggerated promotion/advertising
- Using resource data such as images, animations, sound effects, etc.
(These assets are outside the scope of the GPL, so if they are found, a DMCA takedown may be issued.)
Exceptions
- If permitted by this mod’s developers, the above prohibitions may not apply.
- If your mod is a fork of this mod, the above prohibitions do not apply, and you may also use the resource data (unless specifically prohibited).
- However, this exception does not apply if the mod’s name falls under any of the following:
- A name that insults this mod
- “SuperNewRoles” or “Super New Roles”
- If you want to use the string “SuperNewRoles” or “Super New Roles,” adding extra characters (+α) will make it a name that qualifies for the exception.
Requests
- The following items are not mandatory.
- If something comes up, we may contact you via DM, so it would help if you keep your DMs open (at least).
- If you’re porting to a host mod and there are roles not yet implemented in this mod’s SuperHostRoles mode, we’d appreciate it if you could submit a pull request to add SHR support.
