Downgrading Among Us
Steam Method
1. A method to obtain the previous Among Us version
- Rename the folder you want to update to [
Among Us]. - If the [
Among Us] folder does not exist, a new [Among Us] folder will be created and the game will be downloaded. - The folder that will be downgraded is [
Among Us]. - Folders with any other name will not be downgraded.
-
Rather than renaming your mod folder to [
Among Us] and downgrading it directly, it’s recommended to first obtain the vanilla files, then duplicate that folder and install mods fresh.- This is because the mod version inside the folder you want to downgrade is likely not compatible with the downgraded version.
- There’s a high chance things will become inconsistent (e.g., BepInEx not being compatible).
-

-

-
On the Among Us page, click the Manage button.
-

-
Open Properties.
-

-
Click Betas.
-

-
Click the drop-down menu for Beta Participation.
-

-
Select the version you want to download.
- Which one is the “previous version” may change each time.
If the installed version ends up being different, switch and download again. - Select
public-previous - Previous live production version. -
Select
public-beta - public-beta. -
The download of the previous Among Us version will begin.
-

-
After the download finishes, launch the game and confirm it’s the version you need.
-

-
If it matches the required version, the download is complete.
- If it’s a different version, go back to step 6, choose the other option, and try downloading again.
