If You Can’t Create a Room or Join a Game

Details

• When you try to create a room or start a game, you get banned from the room.
• When you try to join a room or when the game starts, you get banned from the room.

Suspected Cause

• It is suspected that there is an issue with your vanilla-side settings, causing the official Among Us servers (North America, Europe, Asia) to flag you as cheating and ban you from the server.
• This is not caused by SNR; it is a vanilla-side problem.

• Therefore, it may also occur for the following users:

  • People using vanilla or another mod on Steam/Epic
  • People using platforms other than Steam/Epic (Android, iOS, Switch, PS4, etc.)

• If it happens while you are a guest and it does not happen every time, other possibilities are also suspected:

• The room you joined is using another mod, and you may have been banned due to that room’s rules/specs.
• You may have been banned because you are blocked on the host’s friend list.
• You may have been manually banned.
• etc.

How to Fix

Notes

• In most cases, this can be fixed with Fix Method 1 only.
• If Fix Method 1 does not fix it, try Fix Method 2.
• Fix Method 2 involves resetting vanilla settings and editing files in a hidden folder.
• Proceed at your own risk.
• If you do not want to use Fix Method 2, please look for another solution.
  Also, questions like “I don’t want to use Fix Method 2—what should I do?” will not be accepted.
• Fix Method 1 can be used even if the issue occurs on non-PC platforms (Android, iOS, Switch, PS4, etc.).

Fix Method 1_Create a local room with recommended settings

• 1. From Play, press “Local”.
     
• 1. Create a room in “Classic”.
     
• 1. Open the settings edit screen and change to the recommended settings.
• 1. Go to the Game Presets settings screen.
     
• 1. Enable [Core Settings].
     
• 1. Enable [All Roles]. (Enabling Core Settings alone will not restore role settings properly, so you must enable this as well.)
     
• 1. Your game settings and role settings will be changed to the recommended settings.
     
• 1. Create an online room and try starting a game to confirm whether you still get banned.
• In SNR, you can start alone. Normal behavior when starting alone is as follows:
  • For Airship: after the intro, you choose a spawn point, spawn, and then the results screen appears immediately.
  • For maps other than Airship: after the intro, you spawn, and then the results screen appears immediately.
• 1. If it was not fixed in [iv], create a “Hide and Seek” room and try the same steps.
     
     

Fix Method 2_ (Do at your own risk)

1. Press Windows + R to open Run.
   
2. Type %AppData%.
   
3. C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming will open.
4. Move up one level to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData.
   
5. Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow.
6. Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Innersloth.
7. Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Innersloth\Among Us.
8. Delete settings.amogus.
