I installed the MOD, but the game won’t start!

  • There are several possible causes, but first, please check again that you meet all of the prerequisites in the installation instructions.
  • If you meet all the requirements but still cannot start the game, the following causes are possible.
    • Case 1 The version of the MOD you installed does not match the version of Among Us itself
      • This often happens right after the base game has been updated. Please carefully check which version the MOD you are trying to install supports.
    • Case 2 Your antivirus software is preventing the MOD files from being downloaded
      • If you have installed additional antivirus software, the game may fail to start.
For general use, Windows’ built-in protection is sufficient, so the easiest solution is to uninstall the extra antivirus software.
      • If you cannot uninstall the antivirus software due to work or other reasons, add the folder where the MOD is installed to the exclusion list, or temporarily turn off the antivirus protection during the first launch.
      • In this case, usually only the first launch fails, so once the game has successfully started, it is often fine to re-enable the antivirus software.
    • Case 3 The vanilla settings are in an abnormal state
      • This is especially likely to happen right after a major vanilla update.
        • It is very likely to occur if you play on the latest vanilla version and then try to play on an older version.
      • You can fix it using the steps below, but since this involves editing hidden files, please wait for a MOD update if you are unsure. Do this at your own risk.
How to directly reset the vanilla settings
      • Step 1 Open “C:\Users\LocalUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Innersloth\Among Us”
        • The AppData folder is a hidden folder, so please look up how to display it yourself. The method differs depending on your OS.
        • If you do not understand what the path above means, we do not recommend performing this operation.
      • Step 2 Delete “settings.amogus”.
  • Case 4 If FatalError is displayed and the game cannot start
    • In most cases, this happens when you have installed another MOD in addition to SNR.
    • Always make sure to install only one MOD per vanilla game installation.
    • Also, on the Epic version, this can happen if you replace files while the launcher is running.
    • If this occurs, please restart the Epic launcher.

I installed the MOD, but the logo doesn’t appear!

  • There are several possible causes, but first, please check again that you meet all of the prerequisites in the installation instructions.
  • If you meet all the requirements but still cannot start the game, the following causes are possible.
    • Case 1 The MOD files have been deleted by antivirus software
      • We will not name any specific software, but many cases have been reported where the game cannot start when a certain free antivirus software is installed.
For general use, Windows’ built-in protection is sufficient, so the easiest solution is to uninstall it.
      • If you cannot uninstall the antivirus software due to work or other reasons, add the folder where the MOD is installed to the exclusion list.
    • Case 2 The MOD files are not being recognized properly on the Epic version
      • Mainly on the Epic version, it seems that the MOD may not be recognized properly when the MOD is installed under ProgramFiles.
      • Please install Among Us somewhere other than ProgramFiles, such as on your Desktop.

I can’t press the Start button!

  • When playing in Normal Mode, all participants must have the same version of the MOD installed.
If error display is turned ON, it will show which player is causing the issue and what the cause is, so please ask the relevant player to resolve it.

Non-PC players can’t join the room!

  • Open General / Mode Settings and check the child settings under Kick by specified platform.
    • If Android participants cannot join, turn OFF Kick Android.
    • You can also configure kick targets separately for PC and other devices.
  • If this does not solve the issue, uncheck Ban players who do not have a friend code.
    • However, since the above setting mainly applies to users such as minors who do not have a friend code, turning it OFF is generally not recommended.

I get banned from the room when I create one!

  • This is a bug that often occurs right after playing on a custom server.
  • From the title screen, go to PlayLocalClassic, create a local room, then reset the vanilla settings by clicking Game PresetsCore SettingsRoles.
  • After that, create a room again online, mainly on a vanilla server, and check whether you can create the room successfully.
    • Since the vanilla settings will have been reset, please configure the settings again.

I can’t use the MOD’s hats, visors, etc.! Android only

  • Even on a mobile network such as 4G/5G, cosmetics can be downloaded if Download cosmetics on mobile network is turned ON in the client settings.
  • If you want to reduce data usage, or if you have this setting turned OFF, please connect to Wi-Fi.
  • For details, see Client Settings.

If none of the above solves the issue
