Sidekick

Faction

Win Condition

  • Victory for the Jackal faction
    • For details, please check the win condition for Jackal.

Role Description

  • This role is not assigned at the start of the game. It is assigned when designated by the Jackal's active ability, [Sidekick!].
  • When a player becomes a Sidekick, they lose the abilities of the role they had before receiving the SK ability. (*2 exceptions apply)
  • When all Jackals (*1) die, the Sidekick is promoted to Jackal.

  • Unlike Jackal Friends, the Sidekick is counted as part of the Jackal faction.
    • In a board state of 0w 1J 1SK 2C, the number of players in the Jackal faction is judged to be equal to the number of Crewmates, so the Jackal faction fulfills its win condition.

Detailed Specifications
  • Sidekick promotion and kill ability
    • A Sidekick never has a kill ability.
    • There is no such thing as an unpromoted Sidekick.

  • The Jackal faction can never exist in a state where it is counted as a killing faction but is unable to kill.
    • Since a board state like 0w 0J 1SK 2C~ cannot occur, the game will never continue with no killing hostile roles present.
    • If you do not want to increase the number of killing hostile roles but want to increase the number of players in the Jackal faction, please use Jackal Friends.
      • Since Jackal Friends is the Jackal-faction version of Madmate, they are allies of the Jackal, but they do not gain a kill button after the Jackal dies, and they are counted as Crewmates.
      • They can be assigned either at the start of the game or by designation from the Jackal, just like a Sidekick.
Notes
  • *1 All Jackals
    • Includes Jackals other than the parent Jackal.
    • Does not include other Jackal roles, such as Wave Cannon Jackal.

  • *2 Exceptions
    • Depending on the abilities of the role the player had before becoming a Sidekick, such as Star, they may become a Sidekick while retaining the abilities of their previous role.
    • They do not lose abilities from overlapping roles, such as Lovers.

  • *3 Venting and vision follow the settings for Jackal.
