Mad Teru Teru
Faction
- Impostor faction (Madmate)
Win Conditions
- Same as the basic Madmate win conditions
- If you are ejected, the Impostor faction wins
Role Description
- By getting yourself ejected, you can make the Impostor faction win (depending on settings, completing tasks may be required).
- You also have the basic Madmate abilities (Impostor vision / Fanatic / vents).
- However, the Fanatic ability uses a special configuration method.
- Because the “ejection win” condition is tied to task completion, the triggers overlap.
- The task count setting is shared between the ejection-win ability and Fanatic activation.
- It is not possible to set the required number of tasks for Fanatic higher than the number of tasks required for the ejection-win ability.
- Example:
- If you want to set the ejection-win ability to require 15 tasks, and Fanatic activation to require 3 tasks:
- Set the total of Common Tasks, Long Tasks, and Short Tasks so that it adds up to 15.
- e.g., Common: 2, Long: 3, Short: 10, etc.
- Set “Task amount that becomes visible (within all tasks)” to 25%.
- 15 * (25 / 100) = 3.75
- Since decimals are rounded down, the number of tasks required to activate Fanatic becomes 3.
- Because it’s judged by how many tasks are completed out of the total, the task type doesn’t matter.
Why Include This Role?
Why Include This Role?
- In lobbies where players don’t prioritize voting people out, setting the number of tasks required for the ejection win higher than the Crewmates’ task count **raises early-game voting awareness**.
- Early on, Mad Teru Teru’s tasks are definitely not finished.
- In the late game—when Mad Teru Teru is more likely to have finished tasks—more accurate deduction is required, making them harder to vote out.
- To prevent an Impostor win via Mad Teru Teru being ejected, it’s important to build voting awareness from the early game.
- It makes it easier to consciously practice one Madmate playstyle: **becoming suspicious in your master’s place, getting voted out, and causing the crew to misread how many Impostors remain**. - For Mad Teru Teru to get voted out, support from the Impostors is also necessary.
(While the one getting voted out should cooperate,) it also serves as practice for Impostor-side play such as **pinning suspicion on the crew to get them voted out**, **reducing the number of Crewmates**, and diverting scrutiny. - For Mad Teru Teru to be ejected, it’s important to lead meetings together with the Impostors. - However, if you push too hard, Crewmates may identify both the Madmate and the Impostors.
- The additional Impostor win condition added by Mad Teru Teru is only meant as a bonus. - Don’t get so focused on finishing tasks and being ejected that you neglect your play as a Madmate. - “Playing as a Madmate” is the foundation, and the Mad Teru Teru ejection win is an extension of that baseline play. - If you aim only for the Mad Teru Teru ejection win rather than an Impostor win, you won’t be able to get yourself voted out effectively.
