Mad Teru Teru

Faction

  • Impostor Team (Madmate)

Win Conditions

  • Same as the basic Madmate win conditions
  • If you are exiled, the Impostor Team wins

Role Description

  • By getting yourself exiled, you can make the Impostor Team win (depending on the settings, tasks may be required).
  • You also have the basic Madmate abilities (Impostor vision, fanaticism, and vents).
    • However, the fanaticism ability uses a special configuration method.
      • Since the condition for an “exile win” is task completion, it shares the same trigger as another ability.
      • The task count setting is shared between the exile win ability and the fanaticism activation.
      • It is not possible to require more tasks for the exile win ability than for the fanaticism ability.
      • Example
        • If you want the task count required for the exile win ability to be 15, and the task count required to activate fanaticism to be 3:
          • Set the total number of common tasks, long tasks, and short tasks to 15.
            • Common Tasks: 2, Long Tasks: 3, Short Tasks: 10, etc.
          • Set Task amount needed to be able to confirm (among all tasks) to 25%.
            • 15 * ( 25 / 100 ) = 3.75
            • Since decimals are rounded down, the number of tasks required to activate fanaticism becomes 3.
            • Since the check is based on how many tasks were completed out of the total, the task type does not matter.

Purpose of the Role

Purpose of the Role
  • In villages where players are not very conscious about voting someone out, setting the number of tasks required for the exile win higher than the Crewmates’ task count encourages players to be more willing to vote early on.
    • In the early game, Mad Teru Teru’s tasks are definitely not finished yet.
    • In the late game, when Mad Teru Teru is more likely to have finished their tasks, higher-accuracy deduction becomes necessary, making them harder to vote out.
    • To prevent an Impostor win caused by exiling Mad Teru Teru, it is important to be willing to vote from the early game.

  • This role makes it easier to focus on one of the Madmate playstyles: “acting suspicious in place of your master, getting voted out, and causing players to misidentify the number of remaining Impostors,” making it useful for practicing that style of play.
  • In order for Mad Teru Teru to be voted out, support from the Impostors is also necessary.

(Although the person being voted out is cooperating,) this role provides practice for the Impostor Team’s playstyle of shifting suspicion onto the Crew Team and getting them voted out, reducing the number of Crewmates, and diverting attention away from themselves.
    • In order for Mad Teru Teru to be exiled, it is important to lead meetings together with the Impostors.
    • However, if you force it too much, the Crewmates may identify both the Madmate and the Impostors.

  • The additional Impostor win condition added by Mad Teru Teru is only a bonus.
    • Do not neglect your role as a Madmate by focusing only on finishing tasks and getting exiled.
    • Playing properly as a Madmate is the foundation, and Mad Teru Teru’s exile win is an extension of that normal playstyle.
    • If you only aim for Mad Teru Teru’s exile win instead of an Impostor victory, you will not be voted out successfully.
