Role List
Impostor
- These are the roles equivalent to “werewolves” in a typical Werewolf/Mafia-style game.
- SuperNewRoles also includes Madmate roles, which are equivalent to “madmen/jesters” (traitors) in those games.
- Madmate roles are treated as Crewmate roles.
Basic Win Conditions
- Through kills or ejections, reduce the number of Impostors and Crewmates without kill abilities until the latter is less than or equal to the former.
- If certain Third Faction roles (described later) are still alive, the game may not end even when the numbers are equal or lower.
- Run out the timer via emergency tasks.
- Some roles have special win conditions.
Basic Abilities
- Kill
- You can kill players other than Impostors.
- Some roles do not have this ability.
- Roles without it generally have conditions attached to killing.
- Sabotage
- You can hinder other players.
- The type of sabotage depends on the map.
- Some sabotages cause an immediate Impostor win if not fixed before the time limit.
- In this mod, you can change the time limit.
For details, read Custom Settings. - For some roles, this ability can be disabled in the settings.
- Vent
- You can use vents placed around the map to move to another location.
- For some roles, this ability can be disabled in the settings.
- No vision reduction during Lights sabotage
- Your vision does not shrink even while a Lights sabotage is active.
Terminology
- **Power Play (PP)**
- A game state where the Impostor side has saturated the lobby such that you can no longer eject an Impostor by voting.
- This often happens when Madmate roles or an Opportunist are in the game.
- `Example:` With 2 Impostors, 1 Madmate, and 3 Crewmates, the Impostor side has 3 votes, so you cannot eject an Impostor by voting.
- Sometimes people distinguish between **Half-PP** (a state where votes tie and end up as a skip) and **PP** (a state where the Impostor side can vote out Crewmates).
- Once PP occurs, Crewmates can only win via tasks.
Crewmate
- These are the roles equivalent to “villagers” in a typical Werewolf/Mafia-style game.
- Madmate roles (the “madman” equivalent) are also included in this category.
Basic Win Conditions
- Eliminate all Impostors and certain Third Faction roles through kills or ejections.
- All Crewmate-aligned players complete their tasks.
- Some roles (mainly those that are not allies of the Crewmate faction) do not have their tasks counted toward victory.
Madmate Roles
- A group of roles that support the Impostors—essentially the “madman/traitor” archetype.
- At the start of the game, Madmate roles are shown as “Madmate,” not “Crewmate.”
- Their win condition changes from a Crewmate win to an Impostor win.
- They belong to the Impostor side but are not Impostors, so in some cases they may need to die in order to win.
Jackal Friends
- Roles that support the Jackal, a Third Faction role.
- At the start of the game, Jackal Friends are shown as “Jackal Friends,” not “Crewmate.”
- Their win condition changes from a Crewmate win to a Jackal win.
- They belong to the Jackal side but are not the Jackal, so in some cases they may need to die in order to win.
Third Faction
- Roles that are neither Impostor nor Crewmate.
- This is a faction that does not exist in vanilla.
Basic Win Conditions
- Win conditions vary by role.
Third Faction Roles with Kill Abilities
- Third Faction roles with kill abilities (e.g., Jackal) will keep the game going even if all Impostors are eliminated.
- They also keep the game going even when their numbers become less than or equal to the Impostors.
- The game continues until one side is completely wiped out.
- Depending on the ruleset, the Crewmate side may not be able to win unless they also eliminate the Third Faction.
Ghost Roles
- Roles assigned after death.
- Generally, these roles do not have very strong abilities.
Basic Win Conditions
- You win if your faction wins.
Combination Roles
- Roles made up of multiple roles.
- They always spawn as a set.
Modifiers
- Roles that are additionally granted on top of your original role.
- Some of them can change your win condition.
